Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Under direction of the Assistant Director of Workforce Learning and Development Bureau and a Training Specialist 2, the Program Aide duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Research content for new or revised curricula; assist with curriculum development.
• Monitor bureau expenditures including creating an annual budget and tracking and monitoring all spending and contract finances.
• Provide database management including running queries, completing reports, identifying and resolving data issues, managing compliance for mandated training.
• Create training needs assessment report by monitoring class evaluations and through discussions with Regional Training Coordinators.
• Manage all current contracts including finances, assessments, scheduling and acting as the liaison between WLDB and the vendor.
• Act as the liaison between NYSDOT and NHI, PSWP and the CSEA Learning Alliance. This will include attending planning meetings and providing input on NYSDOT training needs; sharing training announcements with agency employees; and working with organizations to develop NYSDOT-specific training.
• Supervise clerical staff.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
