Minimum Qualifications Must possess a license and current registration to practice as a practical nurse in New York State.
Must possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State at the time of appointment and continuously thereafter.
Duties Description Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the candidate will be involved in the treatment of patients/residents, administer medications and injections; perform tube feedings; hang IVs; collect blood samples if certified for venipuncture; provide colostomy care; observe patients and report changes in their condition; take and record temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; obtain specimens for analysis and perform other medical procedures as ordered by a physician. Will prepare and apply simple dressings; bathe and feed patients/residents; and care for patients/residents and their quarters by performing such tasks as making beds, changing linen, lifting and moving patients/residents and caring for their personal effects. Provision of nursing services may take place within a state operated facility or community based residential or program setting.
Additional Comments 4 weeks of paid full time mandatory training is required at time of hire.
