Duties Description The incumbent of this position will provide support to the Data Analysis and Support Section in the Statewide Policy & Performance Bureau. The section is responsible for the acquisition management, analysis, production and reporting of diverse transportation market related datasets such as Census household, population, and commuting pattern, establishment/employment location, modal asset, service and usage (i.e. pedestrian, ADA compliance, transit, etc.), freight and commodity flow, traffic volume and speed, land use and other associated databases. The position requires familiarity with database management tools and GIS. Additional familiarity with programming languages, analysis tools such as transportation demand forecasting models, demographic and economic analysis methods and corridor analysis tools is a plus.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Provide data support to other areas within the Department, MPOs, transit agencies and local planning partners;
• Perform data analysis in response to mandated planning and performance reporting and quick turnaround executive level information requests;
• Provide technical guidance on application of data to project, program or policy assessments;
• Participate in development and generation of performance measures;
• Support the procurement and management of consultant-led efforts to acquire, analyze or supply transportation market data to inform Department or partner agency plans, program and initiatives;
• Support the integration of modal and transportation market and demand data into Department enterprise data platforms;
• Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures, and manuals in support of Section activities;
• Effectively communicate technical information and findings, both written and verbal, to inform management, customers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
