Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 1 (Keyboarding) OR have one year of permanent competitive service in a title that is eligible to transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
A typing performance test is required for all candidates from the Beginning Clerical Worker eligible list and transfer candidates who have not previously held a keyboarding title. Candidates must pass a five minute typing test at the speed of 30 words per minute with at least a 96% accuracy rate.
Duties Description Performs office support and clerical work to meet the requirements of agency programs. Such work may consist of, but is not limited to: performing data entry; math or calculations; mail, supply, and inventory functions; keyboarding and other document preparation tasks; answering telephones; completing forms; assisting customers; creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables; and performing other related activities.
Additional Comments This position belongs to the CSEA Unit 3 Bargaining Unit.
