The preferred candidate would have the ability to effectively work in a fast-paced office and prioritize multiple assignments. Duties Description The Just Say Yes to Fruits and Vegetables Program (JSY) is a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – Education initiative (SNAP-Ed) focused on obesity prevention, and promoting healthy diets and active lifestyles to SNAP recipients and eligible families. JSY provides behaviorally-focused nutrition education and obesity prevention strategies including the development and adoption of policies and systems that facilitate and support environmental changes to increase access to healthy foods. JSY has contracts with 8 New York State Regional Food Banks and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to implement JSY in emergency food programs and farmers market settings.
The Health Program Administrator (HPA) will be responsible for JSY fiscal oversight, including preparing fiscal information for the annual SNAP-Ed Plan, preparing required quarterly fiscal reports, and compiling other program data from JSY’s web-based application to include in these reports. This position will provide contract management of one (1) JSY food bank contract, ensuring compliance with contract and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) SNAP-Ed regulations, and provide technical assistance to contractors regarding allowable activities and expenses. Other job duties include implementing and maintaining systems; and coordinating quality assurance activities to ensure that contractors are meeting deliverables.
Additional Comments Contingent - Permanent, Full-time. Occasional travel to locations that may not be served by public transportation is required.
