The preferred candidate would have the ability to effectively work in a fast-paced office and prioritize multiple assignments. Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint. Advanced proficiency with Excel, Access, or other database programs and data management programs. Experience with reporting software and web-based applications is also preferred.

Duties Description The Hunger Prevention and Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP) provides supplemental funding and nutrition technical assistance to a network of emergency food programs (EFPs) consisting of eight regional NYS food banks and 38 other contractors serving 2,500 soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters. Assistance includes partial funding for emergency food, food safety and sanitation supplies, food service equipment, food service operating costs and nutrition technical assistance. HPNAP funding provides significant assistance in enhancing the provision of over 204 million meals in New York State per year. HPNAP maintains service and fiscal data for all program activities.

The Administrative Specialist 1 (AS1) will be responsible for and function as subject matter expert for HPNAP data management processes, including implementation and maintenance of a new statewide web-based data management system. In addition, the AS1 will support HPNAP fiscal oversight activities such as preparing fiscal information for required annual and quarterly fiscal reports and compiling other program fiscal and service data. These activities include liaison tasks with Information Technology Services (ITS) and contractors. Other job duties include conducting voucher trace evaluation tasks and coordinating quality assurance activities.

Additional Comments Contingent-Permanent, full-time. Occasional travel to locations that may not be served by public transportation is required.
