Salary RangeFrom $66671 to $82785 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Currently in title Infection Control Nurse; or
Eligible for a 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Infection Control Nurse 2 by the Department of Civil Service (must also be within 2 salary grades of a grade 19); or

License and current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State
AND
Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience
AND
you must meet one of the following requirements:

A bachelor's or master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, the biological sciences, public health, epidemiology, public administration in a health care area, health care administration, or hospital services administration;
OR
Two additional years of nursing experience in which 50% of your time was spent in the administration, development, or implementation of an infection control program;
OR
A current national certificate in infection control issued by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Develop policies and procedures supportive of an infection control program that eliminates risk of infection to residents, facility personnel and visitors through daily surveillance and implementation of appropriate control measures. Teach infection control and isolation techniques, practices and policies to employees at all levels. Identify areas demonstrating infection risk and initiate and maintain programs to eliminate hazards of infection.
Manages the DDSO immunization program for staff and clients, oversees OSHA compliance and performs additional duties under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or the Medical Director.
Additional Comments Please note, posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 19 ($59,671) and Geographic Pay Differential ($7,000). Geographic Pay Differential added to the job rate ($75,785) for the PS&T Grade 19.

• CAPA: Must be cleared by the NYS Central Register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment, if position requires working with minors and not previously cleared.
