Minimum Qualifications Current Office of General Services employee with permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service as a Payroll Examiner 1 and interested in reassignment; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service as a Payroll Examiner 1; OR current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c service in a position allocated to a Grade 10 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description The incumbent of the requested position will perform a variety of duties in relation to processing HR/Payroll transactions in the BSC HR Service Line. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Participate in daily "huddles" and lean activities.
• Handle appropriate calls and emails using the Right Now Ticketing system.
• Process routine Payroll transactions in PayServ in accordance with the Department of Civil Service and Office of the State Comptroller rules and regulations and customer agency internal guidelines which include: routine salary calculations, miscellaneous spreadsheet processing, Direct Deposit, Tax form processing, Loans and Arrears, Petty Cash checks, verification of employment requests and lumps sums.
• Answer various types of communications (phone, email, letters) from employees, managers, BSC HR staff, OSC, and customer agencies concerning payroll topics utilizing the Right Now Ticketing System and shared payroll mailboxes.
Consistently provide quality customer service to all Business Service Center customers (i.e. customer agencies, state employees, personnel liaisons, etc.).
