Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: An employee with one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title allocated to Grade 21 or higher may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
As an Auditor 2 in the Internal Audit Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for planning, conducting, and overseeing audit staff on internal and contract audits. Duties of this position will include, but not be limited to:
• Performing research on the functions of the program area to be audited to determine its purpose, organization, funds involved, and applicable laws, rules, and regulations governing its operation.
• Preparing audit plans identifying the scope of the audit, audit objectives, and proposed audit areas.
• Conducting entrance conferences to explain audit goals, methodology, and to gain access to records.
• Conducting the audit by performing various tests, reviews, reconciliations, and evaluations of accounts, claims, records, and procedures to ensure that transactions are processed and properly accounted for and effective controls are in place.
• Assigning audit tasks and providing supervision and training to audit staff.
• Preparing and reviewing audit working papers, ensure they correspond to the audit program, are accurate, complete, and support conclusions and audit results.
• Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the program in meeting its goals and priorities by reviewing program operations.
• Evaluating the organization being audited by comparing performance to contractual requirements and standards.
• Determining total direct cost of the program and analyze costs
• Preparing reports of audit findings and recommendations.
• Discussing audit findings with representatives of the organization and conduct exit conferences.
• Keeping the Audit Director abreast of audit progress.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Audit Director.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, and TeamMate.
• Work well with staff at all levels of an organization and in team settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to take on responsibility and function independently with integrity and discretion.
