• New York State residency,
• Bachelor’s Degree,
• 5 years of working in a high volume administrative and/or human resources setting,
• 2 years of Supervisory experience,
Strong preference is given to candidates with the following:
• Experience in New York State government and/or law enforcement,
• Familiarity with commercial building operations and building management,
• Familiarity with FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, and other relatable human resource functions,
• Must be willing and available to work unscheduled hours as necessary; and
• Some travel is required.
Duties Description The Office of the New York State Inspector General [“NYSIG”], as established by Executive Law Article 4-A, is entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring that New York State government, its employees, and those who work with the State meet the highest standards of honesty, accountability, and efficiency. The Office of the New York State Welfare Inspector General [“OWIG”], as established by section 74 of the Executive Law, is responsible for maintaining the integrity of New York State’s public assistance programs. The Office of the New York State Workers’ Compensation Fraud Inspector General [“WCFIG”], as established by section 136 of the Workers’ Compensation Law, is responsible for investigating violations of the laws and regulations pertaining to the operation of the workers’ compensation system.
Collectively, the three offices are known as the Offices of the Inspector General [“OIG”].
OIG seeks an Office Manager for its Western Regional Office (based in Buffalo) for its offices in Buffalo and Syracuse, New York. The Office Manager is the on-site human resources and facilities representative and works closely with the Administrative and Operations team. The Office Manager has multi-site supervisory responsibility in the Buffalo and Syracuse offices, and is the point of contact for the operations of the office space.
Additional Comments This is a Management Confidential position that is appointed by the Inspector General. New York State residency is required. Salary is commensurate with experience.
