Minimum Qualifications In order to be considered for appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service Secretary 1 eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law to the Administrative Assistant Trainee 1, SG-8, OR Administrative Assistant 1, SG-11.

To be eligible for transfer via 70.1 of the Civil Service law, you must have one year of permanent competitive service in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the advertised position.

Duties Description The Administrative Assistant 1 will perform office support and clerical work within the Office of Administration under the supervision of the Regional Operations Coordinator.
In order to maintain a welcoming environment for prospective students, students, community members, and visiting College staff, the duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Serve as primary point of contact for location; Responsible for following proper opening and closing procedures for the location; Responsible for clerical duties that assist the college and support the student experience such as coordinating the workflow of the office and carrying out day-to-day administrative support activities; Provide students and guests with excellent customer service, including telephone, e-mail or in person inquiries; Distribute mail, e-mail, or other forms of correspondence; Assist with event and meeting preparation and execution; Use judgement to make independent decisions on a regular basis; Actively participate in college activities
