Minimum Qualifications 1. Must currently be a permanent Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 OR

2. Must be active and reachable on the Civil Service eligible list for Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1 OR

3. Eligible for 70.1 transfer by way of current permanent status in a title deemed comparable to Developmental
Disabilities Program Specialist 1 by the Department of Civil Service (Must also be within 2 salary grades of the targeted title); OR

4. Qualified for Provisional Appointment by having taken the DDPS1 exam in July.
Minimum Qualifications for Provisional Appointment: You must be a qualified employee of the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a position at a Grade 16 or above and have taken the DDPS1 exam recently given in July.

NOTE: Provisional appointments will only be considered if there are insufficient in-title and/or Civil Service list candidates.

Duties Description • Interface with Administrative and Human Resources staff in the coordination of staffing assignments

• Provide staffing information to the Staffing Specialist to ensure submission of reports forwarded to the Director/DDPS 4 and Human Resources.

• Provide ongoing training to staffing control unit personnel on areas including overtime policy and procedure, time and attendance policy, CSEA Union Contractual procedure, etc.

• Provide written and verbal guidelines pertaining to designated processes utilized to ensure adequate staffing at each residence.

• Sit on the Traineeship Council Committee and other designated committees, as required, as it relates to the agency’s staffing control.
