Minimum Qualifications Candidates must currently be serving in the title of Developmental Assistant 3 with permanent or contingent permanent status at OPWDD OR be reachable for appointment from the Civil Service List; OR currently be serving in a position in which you are eligible to transfer to this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidate must possess good management, budgeting and math skills. In addition, candidate must be able to maintain attendance records and develop 28-day schedules. Possession of a valid driver license and current recertification in SCIP, CPR, First Aid and AMAP are preferred.

Duties Description The incumbent’s job duties will include the following: Supervise mid-level, direct care and support staff caring for developmentally disabled individuals residing in state operated IRAs; insure the clean, safe and home-like appearance of the IRAs; monitor the expenditure of the individuals’ funds; arrange habilitation evaluations, follow-up services and treatment; oversee the dispensing and administration of medications; prepare periodic reports as necessary. The incumbent will also have overall responsibility for the development of positive relationships with family members, the community and other service providers, and insure the provision of clinical and support services.
