Minimum Qualifications • Any permanent Developmental Assistant 2.
• Any permanent employee who would meet eligibility requirements for a 70.1 transfer.
• Anyone currently reachable on the Civil Service list.
• Provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for appointment, candidates must have completed the Developmental Assistant Traineeship or Developmental Assistant Traineeship (In Residence Model) AND have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as a Developmental Assistant 1 OR Developmental Assistant 1 (In Residence Model), OR Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 1.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) continues to offer alternative types of Care Pilot Projects at DDSOOs in an attempt to offer new options for state-operated services for the individuals we serve
Description of Pilots:
Community Habilitation:
Community Habilitation provides support to individuals in the community or in their own homes. This service provides skill development to address multiple habilitation needs. After the initial program planning process, individuals receiving this service, or their advocates select the staff and determine the frequency and duration of the staff support. Community Habilitation is intended for individuals during the day and evening hours to support independent living and is not intended to provide 24-hour supports
In Home Respite:
In Home Respite provides support to an individual living at home and offers relief for the family from primary care responsibilities. Direct Support Professionals assigned to providing services assist individuals with ADL skills, homework, recreation, community inclusion, dining, bathing, preparing for bed and any other needs identified within the scope of a DSA function

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide oversight, training, supervision, and support for the direct care staff in the area of active treatment/service delivery.
• Will coordinate and schedule staff assignments per the individuals’ needs.
• Will be responsible for ensuring training procedures and on-going services are developed, maintained and implemented consistently.
• Will attend meetings as assigned (Life Plan, and other meetings) for individuals and ensure that needs as related to these areas are represented appropriately
• Will effectively and consistently communicate with supervisors and other team members via email and other methods as appropriate.
• Will assist with Community Habilitation/In Home Respite services as needed.
• Will complete other duties as assigned.
• Travel/flexibility required.

• For CSEA positions: Local Bidding Agreements will be honored.
