Minimum Qualifications Candidates must possess a New York State Professional Engineer License and current registration. To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description The candidate selected to fill the PE 1 position will function as a Consultant Manager in the Region 11 Structures Group with the following job responsibilities:
• Manage a Consultant responsible for the development of preliminary engineering and final design work assignments for a bridge project.
• Monitor progress of work assignments performed by the Consultant to ensure the bridge project is delivered on schedule.
• Support senior level staff in the development of the bridge project, including the preparation of materials detailing the scope, cost and schedule.
• Provide senior level staff with regular updates of the bridge project’s progress.
• Coordinate project activities with other Regional and Main Office functional groups, as well as outside agencies and utilities, required for progressing the bridge project.
