Minimum Qualifications This is a non-competitive position, no examination is necessary. However, you must meet the minimum qualifications.
Minimum Quals: Two years of experience in performing painting work under the supervision of a journey level painter, or completion of an appropriate two-year technical school course.
Duties Description The Maintenance Assistant Painter performs semiskilled activities in preparing surfaces and applying coats of paint, varnish and other finishes and stains to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces and fixtures of buildings, structures, furniture and equipment. Examples of specific tasks are as follows but not limited to: installation of cove base, wallboard with trim and chair rails, ability to make basic carpentry repairs, repair walls and building wall partitions, replace and install drop ceiling tiles, replace molding where necessary, and any other duties, not in the scope of painting but in the field of building maintenance, as directed by supervisor.
Additional Comments Base Salary includes annual location pay. PLEASE NOTE: This position requires rotating weekend coverage based on the facilities needs. The weekend coverage will not be considered as overtime, as the employee will receive two (2) pass during the week.
