Candidates must be current state employees and have a reachable score on the Office Assistant 2 list or
Have a current permanent appointment with 1 year of service as a Office Assistant 2 or to a title eligible for transfer to Office Assistant 2 or
Appointment as a Office Assistant 2 here at UAlbany, less than 1 year of service, (remainder of probationary period to be completed in new assignment) or
Be a former state employee eligible for reinstatement to the title of Office Assistant 2. May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at time of appointment.

Provisional Pending Exam:
Candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have ONE YEAR of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to grade 5 or higher.
Candidates must be eligible to take and pass the next available Office Assistant 2 exam and obtain a reachable score for permanent appointment
May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment.

Duties Description Incumbent performs complicated clerical processing activities requiring substantive knowledge of University policies, procedures, Federal and State Public Health laws and regulations; process student immunization and tuberculosis records; patient registration duties; maintain complicated medical records utilizing specialized software ensuring strict adherence to accuracy and confidentiality; schedule appointments, provide front desk reception customer service; inventory management.
