Minimum Qualifications Administrative Assistant 1 (SG-11):
Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title;
OR
Administrative Assistant Trainee 1 (NS=SG-8):
Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title;
OR
Administrative Assistant Trainee 2 (NS=SG-10):
Eligible for a lateral transfer or eligible for a 70.1 transfer by having one year of permanent competitive service in an appropriate title;
OR
Reachable on the appropriate eligible list in Albany.
Duties Description The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
• Answer telephones, provide information to callers, takes messages, and transfer calls to appropriate contract management staff;
• Greet visitors and trainees; handles their inquiries, or direct them to the appropriate person or training location;
• Assists in ensuring compliance with administrative and programmatic requirements;
• Open, read, route and distribute incoming mail or other training materials;
• Set-up and/or manage paper and electronic filing systems;
• Use various information technology systems in the support of training operations;
• Maintain scheduling and training event calendars; and
• Provider overall administrative services in support of agency training operations.
Additional Comments You must be a current New York State employee to apply for this position. A full-time, permanent appointment will be made. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
Starting salary for Trainee 1 is $34,831.
Starting salary for Trainee 2 is $38,875.
