Minimum Qualifications To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law.
Duties Description Under the supervision of an Associate Accountant, the Accountant Trainee/Senior Accountant would:
• Pay consultant bills and maintain accurate accounting records;
• Assist with Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations for Bids (IFBs), contract management, and DBE compliance;
• Assist with consultant selection process, including preparing meeting minutes, drafting contract documents, and preparing federal funding requests and encumbrances;
• Assist with preparing semi-annual Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) reports for federal agencies (FHWA and FTA);
• Provide information and assistance on administrative matters to NYMTC project managers as requested, including extensions, insurance for meetings, etc.;
• Perform other tasks as required by NYMTC management.
Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
