Duties Description PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, Adobe Acrobat, Relativity, Concordance, WESTLAW, LEXIS, PACER, and a familiarity with government and real estate research, as well as the filing requirements of New York State courts is preferred.
DUTIES:
• Organize, manipulate, and analyze extensive document productions, including preparation and execution of complex document searches, document categorization and organization, and supervised substantive document review.
• Responsible for the management of incoming and outgoing productions, including interaction with internal IT teams, managing prioritization of production loads, drafting of related correspondence, and facilitation/resolution of related technical issues.
• Perform initial investigation of complaints, including researching facts and contacting complainants. Follow up with complainants, including tracking follow up and required note taking.
• Manage and maintain the filing of large and complex matters, including creation and maintenance of logs, analytical charts, electronic storage drives, and document retrieval.
• Conduct legal case law and internet research, and other legal document retrieval from WESTLAW, LEXIS and other services, as well as docket and case monitoring on PACER and related services.
• Perform legal cite checking and finalization of court filings, including proofreading, document formatting, creating tables of authorities and contents.
• Schedule and prepare attorneys for depositions.
• Responsible for attendance and note-taking at court proceedings, examinations, settlement meetings, and similar occasions.
• Promptly archive documents in accordance with office policy.
• Use of case management system and assist in tracking of deadlines.
• Responsible for hard copy document copying, collation and assembly, including indexing, formatting and binding.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
