Minimum Qualifications Clinical Physician 1/SG-34
All Department of Correctional Service's Clinical Physicians are in the non-competitive class. Positions are filled by direct appointment.

Minimum qualifications for appointment: Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and one year of post-licensure medical experience.

Clinical Physician 2/SG-36
All Department of Correctional Service's Clinical Physicians are in the non-competitive class. Positions are filled by direct appointment.

Minimum qualifications for appointment: Promotion - one year of service as a Clinical Physician 1. Open competitive: possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and two years of post-licensure medical experience.

Duties Description Provides a variety of general medical care and treatment services for assigned individuals or facility. Supervises individual care activities and prescribes, orders and oversees the administration of treatments. Functions as a member of interdisciplinary treatment team. Attends meetings and serves on various committees to improve individual services and outcomes. Assists in the development, implementation and revision of clinical policies.
