Minimum Qualifications Appointment may also be made at the Trainee 1 level and serve up to a two-year traineeship. For trainee: Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the Professional Careers Opportunity (PCO), or OAGs Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT). Appointment will be made at the traineeship level.
OR
For transfer: Candidates must have one year permanent competitive status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4 or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.
Duties Description • Conduct statewide recruitment for a variety of professional, clerical and support positions, including canvassing Civil Service lists, preparing vacancy postings, conducting interviews and checking references.
• Analyze and prepare classification requests with supporting justification.
• Advise supervisors and employees of applicable rules which affect the appointment, promotion, transfer, reinstatement or termination of employees.
• Prepare personnel transactions.
• Assist Labor Relations staff in the implementation of the terms of the negotiated contracts and agency policies.
• Assist in examination planning.
• Assist in conducting career training classes for agency employees.
• Conduct administrative studies, perform research and complete special projects as assigned.
• Occasional travel required.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Additional Comments For trainees: 2-year traineeship. Starting salary ~ grade 13, $46,117. After one year advance to HR Spec Tr 2 ~ grade 14 (currently $48,857). After successful completion of traineeship advance to grade 18 (currently $57,880).
