Candidates must have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Assistant Workers’ Compensation Examiner, SG-9. If appointed provisionally, incumbent will need to pass and be reachable on the next Workers’ Compensation Examiner examination to receive a permanent appointment

Duties Description Under the general supervision of the Associate WC Examiner and direct guidance of the Senior WC Examiner, the WC Examiner functions as a Workgroup member. Incumbent of this position must demonstrate a good knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation Law, rules, regulations, procedures and CIS. Duties include but are not limited to: examining and managing work queues; identifying issues and evaluating, preparing and referring cases to the most effective resolution path, such as administrative determination, proposed decision or formal hearing; and handling telephone calls received via the Call Center.
