An employee with one-year of permanent competitive service in a title allocated to Grade 7 (or above) may qualify for transfer pursuant to Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description Standard Duties:

As a Senior Employment Security Clerk, you would perform a variety of functions related to accepting, processing and certifying claims for unemployment insurance benefits. You would work continuously with the public; you would conduct telephone interviews with claimants to obtain detailed information quickly and efficiently identifying issues related to entitlement and eligibility for benefits. You would also respond to unemployment insurance inquiries and process claims related documents. You would also use a computer for input and retrieval of information.
