Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be employed by New York State and have permanent or contingent permanent status as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 2; OR
be reachable on the Civil Service list; OR
currently encumber a position in which you are eligible to transfer to this position.
FOR PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT: One year of experience as a Developmental Disabilities Program Specialist 1.
Duties Description The incumbent’s job duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist the implementation of statewide initiatives, including but not limited to Transformation Agenda initiatives
• Directs administrative and oversight responsibility for the Community Services Department, including Self Direction, Front Door/School Transition, and Eligibility units.
• Process time sheets for those under direct line of supervision in a timely manner.
• Oversee the Level of Care process and sign off on Level of Care forms as the Designee for the Director.
• Oversees Self Direction Department: Ensures process is maintained and Information Sessions are held and readily available to families and individuals
• Liaison to the voluntary provider agencies. Assisting as needed in ensuring the services to those we serve are delivered expeditiously.
• Participate in the weekly Regional Front Door Call
• Participate in monthly Eligibility Community of Practice call
• Ensure staff are current on all trainings and adhere to the training schedule.
• Ensure that evaluations are completed in a timely manner on all staff under the DDPS2.
• Ensure that the administrator is kept apprised of all significant issues and staff actions
• Participate in the Administrator on Duty
• Local lead for statewide special projects
