Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the appropriate Civil Service eligible list for this title; Licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Registration and licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor is not considered qualifying for this exam.
Transfer Opportunity: Candidates must have one year permanent competitive or 55-b/c service as a Licensed Master Social Worker 1 and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible for transfer via Section 70.1 of Civil Service law. To qualify for Section 70.1 transfer, candidates must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have at least one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c service in a title approved for transfer by Civil Service within two salary grades of the SG-18 level.
Duties Description The incumbent’s job duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Leading, tracking and management of LCED reviews, including LOCs related to Eligibility, ICF Conversions, new LOC due to residential placement, etc.
• Upload forms to CHOICES and complete LCED transmittals.
• Use email and CHOICES to receive new applications and follow-up on in-process applications.
• Log in all new eligibility packets
• Review evaluations as part of the First Step eligibility determinations
• Meet with families as needed in order to complete further evaluation of eligibility
• Send packets to Second Step review team if unable to determine eligibility during the First Step process
• Ensure that all packets get processed within the time frames determined by the eligibility guidelines
• Maintain database and ensure eligibility letters are sent out within required timeframes
• Special project as needed
