Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Office Assistant 2, G-9 OR one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above a G-7 and eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.


Preferred Qualifications:
The preferred candidate would have excellent data entry, clerical and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook; ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.

Duties Description The Office Assistant 2 will be responsible for performing data entry and verification of demographic and testing information on environmental samples and clinical specimens submitted for laboratory analysis. Will also be responsible for tracking, logging, scanning sample/specimen history forms; calling submitters for missing information; printing and mailing reports; answering/responding to telephone calls and requests from program staff and submitting facilities.

Additional Comments Flexible hours including evenings and weekends may be required during periods of heavy workload. Current work hours will be discussed at time of interview and may include weekends and hours between 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM
