Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any permanent employee of Broome DDSO. (Excludes Union Officials, Shops Stewards or the equivalent and employees of HR/Labor Relations responsibilities.) The successful candidate should demonstrate an interest in assisting others; have a basic knowledge of human services in the surrounding geographic area; should have the ability to interact with managers, union officials and coworkers; have excellent organization skills.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The EAP Coordinator is specially trained to provide a worksite-based program for employees, labor and management designed to identify problems early so these problems may be resolved to increase productivity and improve the health, safety, and wellness of the employees. The EAP Coordinator provides confidential services to connect employees and constituents to mental health and other community resources. Confidentiality is the cornerstone of the EAP program. Participating in the program is voluntary. Developing and maintaining a list of changing services and resources available to employees is an integral part of the EAP Coordinator’s role.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary function of the EAP Coordinator is to complete an assessment, provide information and/or referral and resources to address serious problems such as alcohol and other drug problems, gambling addiction, domestic violence, stress, physical or emotional concerns, as well as mental health concerns and identifying intra agency trends with Management and constituents. The EAP Coordinator, at the request of management provides a critical incident response from the EAP perspective. The EAP Coordinator functions as a key member of the Workplace Violence Committee, Health & Safety Committee and EAP Committee. The EAP Coordinator functions as a Wellness Ambassador coordinating lunch/learn programs as well as other wellness activities on behalf of employees, in addition to serving on OPWDD Fit It In Sub steering Committee and serving as Chairperson for local Fit It In Committee to enhance opportunities for wellness. The EAP Coordinator provides Team Building presentations to staff as requested by management. The EAP Coordinator participates as an Adjunct Instructor for NEO. The EAP Coordinator provides statistics regarding program usage and is affiliated with the NYS EAP Program under GOER. The EAP Coordinator attends required NYS EAP Regional trainings.
