Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the Information Technology Specialist 1, G-14, Civil Service eligible list OR must be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1, 70.4 or 52.6 of the Civil Service Law.

70.1 Transfer:

To be eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, an individual must have one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Processing Trainer or Information Technology Assistant.

70.4 Transfer:

To be eligible to transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law, an individual must have a current standing on the Civil Service Information Technology Specialist 1 eligible list database and have at least one year of permanent competitive service in a title that is allocated to a salary grade 12 or above.

Duties Description Technical Assistance

· Provide technical assistance to LGSA Staff and local government officials by identifying, researching and resolving any reported software/hardware problems.

· Troubleshoot and report any irregularities discovered in a timely manner.

· Document solutions to issues that arise and resolutions and ensure that any customer support scripts remain up to date

System Testing

· Perform test scripts for testing of system changes to LGSA’s Online Services applications, Justice Court applications and Annual Financial Report applications as well as any other LGSA application as assigned.

· Report test results to supervisor and assist supervisor with review and analysis of system processing output either in printed or data format for accuracy and conformity to expected results.

System Maintenance and Support

· Assist in developing technical system design specifications for LGSA applications and systems, as issues arise and enhancements, revisions and upgrades are required. These systems include but are not limited to the LGSA’s Online Services applications, Justice Court applications and Annual Financial Report applications.

o Prepare documentation on work flows, including information on user operations, data entry and system processing.

o Review and assist in developing requirements for use by applicable programming staff as well as internal procedures for use by staff.

o Communicate, and assist with the implementation of, the technical design specifications relating to proposed changes with internal and external systems and application programmers.

· Perform research on software and systems available that may offer alternatives to the current processing systems and applications.

· Provide Security Administration for LGSA’s Online Services applications, Justice Court applications and Annual Financial Report applications including adding/deleting users, assigning and changing passwords and assigning users to appropriate security groups.

· Develop and run daily diagnostics on existing systems and applications to ensure efficient performance while ensuring unnecessary and unused or incorrect data or files are removed.

System Documentation

· Update existing system documentation as required.

· Assist in developing system documentation for any new LGSA systems or applications.

· Maintain logs of local government filing activity in multiple formats for the necessary applications
