Salary RangeFrom $132775 to $175021 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Experience working in or directly with New York City local government, and deep understanding of fiscal issues facing New York City and/or State.
Master’s Degree in public policy, public finance, urban planning, economics or related field and minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience.
Duties Description · Assists the Deputy Comptroller in areas of policy determination and day to day operations; recommends, develops and implements agency policy.
· Assists the Deputy Comptroller on managing divisional objectives including departmental budget; hiring, supervising, and evaluating staff; setting departmental goals and monitoring and reporting on accomplishments.
· Ensures adherence to, and accomplishment of, the Comptroller’s overall goals and objectives through the application of contemporary ideals and policy positions.
· Liaises with other department and agency heads and representatives of the Legislature to ensure open communication and adherence to goals and objectives
· Directs ad hoc special projects to enable the Deputy Comptroller and Comptroller to respond to a myriad of public issues and concerns in an accurate and timely manner.
· Personally handles correspondence/personal visits of an unusually sensitive or complex nature, which might involve contacts with legislators and/or representatives of federal, state or local government agencies.
· Assists the Deputy Comptroller on projects of an inter-divisional nature required to implement new legislative, judicial or regulatory mandates.
· Represents the Deputy Comptroller on numerous inter-divisional task forces and committees affecting department-wide policy and operations.
· Monitors the general progress of operational programs to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
· Serves in an advisory capacity to satisfy, improve or enhance the department’s overall mission objectives.

· Past history of cash flow management and/or analysis
· Familiarity with New York City/State budgets and capital financing plans
· Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills
· Good judgment; attention to detail and the ability to provide critical guidance and feedback to research staff
· Creative problem-solver; strategic thinker; takes initiative
· Natural curiosity for understanding complex problems
· Channels a growth mindset, and is open to feedback
· Enjoys mentoring staff and has the ability to translate divisional mission to work products
· Interest in developing new/unique content for lay users to understand budget and policy concepts
· Python or R programming skills a plus
