Minimum Qualifications Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list used for filling this title; one year of permanent, competitive class services as an Administrative Assistant 1; or, one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. Examples of eligible titles include but are not limited to: Assistant Workers' Compensation Examiner, Business Document Specialist 1, Business Services Center Representative 1, Call Center Representative 1, Motor Vehicle Representative, Office Assistant 1 (including all parenthetics), Office Assistant 2 (including all parenthetics), Assistant Insurance Fund Services Representative.
Please note: Keyboarding proficiency is a minimum requirement for appointment to the Trainee 1, Trainee 2 or journey level of this position. If you have not previously held a keyboarding position, you must pass the New York State Department of Civil Service Typing Performance Test. There are also additional coursework requirements for appointment to the Trainee 2 or journey level. Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform processing and records maintenance activities requiring skilled use of administrative software, including but not limited to Mircrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Handle additional administrative responsibilities related to new procedures set in place for NYSIF's return to work plan
- Responsible for record keeping, fleet management, PPE inventory
- Fill in for the other administrative staff as needed
- Will work independently with minimal supervision
