Minimum Qualifications Permanent Qualifications:
• Candidates must possess a license to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State AND one-year permanent competitive service as a Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 1
Transfer Qualifications:
• Candidates must currently be a permanent Senior Licensed Practical Nurse 2.
Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The individuals of this home have very intensive and varying medical and support needs. The Senior LPN 2 provides nursing care within their scope under the oversight of the Registered Nurse.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Ensures that the medical plans are performed and are implemented as written and data is recorded as required including med administration, skin care, medical treatments and proper nutrition
• Ensures compliance with Taconic DDSOO Policy/procedures and regulatory compliance
• Implementing all medical treatments as written, checking medical orders, ensuring medications and necessary equipment is in stock
• Provides supervision and guidance to all the staff assigned to this home to ensure maximum quality and continuity of care
• Participates with the treatment team in the development of individual treatment plans.
• May assist with coverage at Valatie South IRA
• Other duties as assigned
