Minimum Qualifications Permanent Transfer Candidates: Current New York State employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Office Assistant 2, G-9 OR one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title at or above a G-7 and eligible for transfer under section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional Promotion Candidates: Current DOH employee with one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent service in an office assistant, clerical, or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Duties Description • Knowledge of Agency Policies regarding absenteeism, FMLA, Worker's Comp
• Ability to establish effective communications between staff and management
• Communicate information to staff regarding scheduling
• Familiar with on-shift scheduling, Microsoft Excel, Word
• Maintenance of OT lists
• Census of House/ Tracking staffing/ Call-ins
Additional Comments Permanent, or provisional-pending examination, full-time appointment. Occasional travel to locations that may not be served by public transportation is required. Candidates appointed provisionally will be required to pass a qualifying Civil Service exam and be reachable for appointment on the resulting eligible list. ***If three or fewer NYS DOH promotional candidates respond to this notice, the agency may, at its discretion, nominate a qualified employee for non-competitive promotion under the provisions of Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law. Employees must have one year or more of permanent or contingent-permanent, competitive service as listed above. In addition, the agency, also at its discretion, has the option under Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law to consider only candidates qualifying under promotion described above. If certified by Civil Service, mandatory reemployment list candidates must be considered first for appointment to this title.
