Minimum Qualifications Minimum qualifications per the Class and Exam unit for a Physician with methadone treatment experience are: Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State AND either one year of service as a Clinical Physician 2 OR four years of post-licensure medical experience of which one year must have been at a supervisory level.

Duties Description Serves as chief of service; manages, directs, and administers medical services for an assigned facility(s), unit(s), or program(s); develops, implements, and revises clinical policies and procedures; and directly supervises Clinical Physicians and/or other medical providers. Provides on call service and is available for questions from facility staff related to the Medication-Assisted Treatment program. Located at Downstate Correctional Facility to be able to increase the efficiency to provide methadone and other Medication-Assisted Treatment components to patients with Opioid Use Disorder.
