Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
-A minimum of Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school (foreign equivalent or higher) or equivalent combination of education and directly related full-time experience in a comparable environment.
-Operating experience with classroom and active learning spaces technologies (e.g., Extron, Crestron, Sony Vision Exchange, Samsung, WolfVision, Polycom, NEC, Zoom), large venue projection systems, audio systems and stage lighting systems.
-Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions; work on multiple projects simultaneously, respond to shifting priorities, and work efficiently under pressure.
-Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Quick learner of new Digital Media technology and effective user of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
-Ability to work before/after business hours and/or weekends as needed.
-Ability to lift and move light to heavy IT equipment up to forty (40) pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited institution in Management of Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science (CS) or related field or in lieu of a bachelor's degree an equivalent combination of education and directly related full-time experience in a comparable environment.
-One (1) year of full-time experience with classroom and active learning space technologies and desktop trouble shooting.
-Detailed knowledge and understanding of Crestron control systems, Extron interfaces and matrix switchers, and other components used in video signal path,
-Deep knowledge and understanding of implementing various display technologies, emerging video technology and video projection, as well as video walls.
-Ability to diagnose trouble spots at all points in digital signal path, deep understanding of audio gain structure, equalization, and microphone technology including wireless systems, portable and installed sound systems and proficiency in interfacing computers with various displays.

The Digital Media (DM) Technician is responsible for ongoing planning, installation, support, and operation of SUNY Old Westbury's digital media equipment and the AV over IP (AVoIP) network in instructional spaces, meeting rooms, and campus event locations. The individual provides outstanding customer service by establishing excellent working relationships with faculty, staff, program and event representatives, vendors and Information Technology Services (ITS) team members.

The AVoIP infrastructure includes all network switches (wired and wireless), routers, optical network and digital head ends, centralized control and monitoring of Audio-Visual systems and Information Security solutions.

Responsibilities include:
-Provide technical and operational support to digital media services by facilitating classroom technology needs, internal and external meetings, functions, and events.
-Test the technology in instructional and event spaces to ensure proper operation. Proactively perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of digital media systems. Coordinate repairs and vendor service calls for the College's digital media equipment and obtain estimates for parts as required.
-Organize and maintain digital media equipment in storage areas. This includes maintaining accurate system inventory, documentation, and security of equipment.
-Effectively communicate and present information in a clear and concise manner and demonstrate strong work ethics while interacting with students and employees.
-Ability to work accurately, efficiently, and quickly with close attention to detail within tight deadlines as well as work well independently and as a team member, with all levels of administration, staff, and visitors.
-Monitor digital media services inbox for service degradation/interruption and resolve issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with other ITS team members as needed to troubleshoot technical issues.
-Create and maintain documentation of associated digital Media Services operational procedures. Stay current with emerging audiovisual technologies and their potential applicability to the College.
-Maintain, analyze, troubleshoot, and install Information technology systems, hardware and computer peripherals, including but not limited to networking equipment, point of sale devices, printers, mobile devices (laptops, iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.).
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Hours: Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hours subject to change due to College academic schedule.
