Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

70.1 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS: An employee with one-year permanent competitive service in certain positions allocated to Grade 11 or higher and have 60 semester credit hours, including six (6) semester credit hours in accounting or statistics (or combination).

70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
An employee with one-year of permanent competitive service in a position allocated to Grade 11 or higher, who has taken and passed the Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner exam may be eligible for transfer.

Note: Consecutive transfers cannot result in more than two salary grades.

Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:

As an Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner, under the supervision of a Senior Unemployment Insurance Accounts Examiner, you would engage in a variety of accounting activities, adjust employers’ tax accounts and answer employers’ inquiries regarding overpayment, underpayment, and tax rates assigned. You would determine the status of employers’ tax accounts based on provisions of the Unemployment Insurance Law, Department of Labor policy and procedures, and the various aspects of the tax accounts and experience rating system.

Additional Comments Please Note: Positions in the Unemployment Insurance Division may be in-person, remote, or partially remote and partially in-person. Remote employees will be required to report in-person if directed. These positions may be subject to mandatory and/or voluntary overtime, which may include evening and weekend hours. Shift start times may vary based on operational need.

Fingerprinting/Background Check: Some positions may require a fingerprint/background check. If the position you applied for requires fingerprinting, you will be advised at the time of your interview. There is no cost to candidates, fingerprinting fees are paid for by the Department of Labor.
