70.4 TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with one year of permanent competitive service as a Grade 11 or higher, who have a bachelor’s degree* or 120 semester credit hours, and who have taken and passed the most recent open competitive examination appropriate for Unemployment Insurance Reviewing Examiner Trainee 1, may qualify for 70.4 transfer.
*Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Duties Description STANDARD DUTIES:
After successful completion of one year at the trainee level, the candidate would advance to full title which is Grade 16. At the full title journey level, the incumbent will perform the full range of duties associated with making determinations on employer liability and worker status, employee coverage, penalty assessments, wage reporting accuracy issues, and reviewing data that may indicate possible UI fraud related activities for referral to appropriate Department offices. Duties include preparing hearing files, corresponding with internal and external customers to resolve liability and coverage issues, issuing written coverage decisions, analyzing data to resolve wage reporting discrepancies and identify potential fraud related activities to refer to other investigatory units, and communicating with employers on a variety of topics related to UI rate calculations and charges.
Additional Comments Please Note: Positions in the Unemployment Insurance Division may be in-person, remote, or partially remote and partially in-person. Remote employees will be required to report in-person if directed. Positions may be subject to mandatory and/or voluntary overtime, which may include evening and weekend hours. Shift start times may vary based on operational need.
