Minimum Qualifications Interested candidates must be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service eligible list or currently an employee of New York State eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 or 70.4 of the Civil Service Law.

Transfer via 70.1

To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer to a Sr. Accountant, SG-18, a candidate must: Have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title allocated to a grade 16 or higher and a bachelor’s degree and 24 credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses.

To be eligible for a 70.1 transfer to an Accountant Trainee, a candidate must: Have one year of permanent, competitive service in a qualifying title, allocated to a grade 12 or higher, a bachelor’s degree or higher including 24 credit hours in accounting, auditing, or taxation courses.

To be eligible for a 70.4 transfer to an Accountant Trainee, a candidate must: Have one year of permanent, competitive service in a position allocated to a grade 12 or higher,

When determining eligibility for transfer, the Office of Human Resources will confirm trainee level. Depending on qualifications, candidates may be required to serve a 2-year traineeship that leads to the journey level, grade 18 position.

Duties Description · Review and confirm daily investment cash settlement amounts:

Review cash projections daily and confer with custodian bank as needed regarding investment activity

· Reconcile daily cash activity posted to the master cash and daily control investment accounts:

Run various custodian reports to verify all daily activity was captured and accounted for correctly on the daily cash management file. Notify appropriate Accounting and JPM staff if discrepancies arise. Provide projection and reconciled files to pension investment staff and Custodian bank to ensure daily activity is correct for equity and fixed income cash settlements. Communicate and research variances to the Custodian bank; document and notify supervisor of variances that are unresolved. Ensure fixed income cash posting agrees to cash received to facilitate cash receipt upload to the general ledger.

· Support Other Asset Classes and Special Assignments:

Support other asset classes as necessary and provide coverage during staff absences. Work on special assignments during audit and financial reporting season or as required by management, including researching new security types, setting up master files, and evaluating security pricing requirements.
