Minimum Qualifications Applicants must have at least five (5) years of legal experience. The ideal candidate will have at least seven (7) years of legal experience, including at least five (5) years as a prosecutor, and substantial experience in developing and managing complex, document-intensive investigations. The successful candidate will also possess excellent writing skills and significant grand jury and trial experience. A background in government and policy is not necessary but is a plus.

Applicants must reside in (or intend to soon become a resident of) New York State and be admitted to practice law in New York State. In addition, the Public Officers Law requires that attorneys in the OAG be citizens of the United States. A two (2) year commitment upon being hired is a condition of employment.

Duties Description The New York State Office of the Attorney General is seeking an experienced prosecutor for the Public Integrity Bureau (PIB) in New York City. PIB Investigates and prosecutes crimes committed by public employees, elected officials, candidates for public office, and people and entities that steal from the government. Prosecutors with PIB handle complex, long term investigations into government corruption, fraud and abuse of authority. PIB investigates and prosecutes both civilly and criminally, from the initial allegation through to settlement, plea or trial. PIB consists of attorneys, investigators, auditors and analysts.
