Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation of heavy equipment, which may include: bulldozers, front end loaders, excavators, graders, backhoes, etc. Must possess a valid NY State Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.

Duties Description Incumbent will operate dump trucks and various pieces of heavy equipment in support of road rehabilitation and New York Works projects throughout the Region. Working knowledge of construction best practices is required. At times, physical labor will be required to complete assigned projects.

Additional Comments Must have a valid driver's license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Will be subject to the Federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (OTETA) of 1991, which requires employee testing for drug and alcohol abuse. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

This is a temporary position currently funded through 3/31/22, with a possibility of continuing after that date. Actual work hours and schedule may vary and will be discussed at interview.
