Minimum Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as Information Technology Specialist 2, G-18 or in a position deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law or in a title designated appropriate for Section 70.1 transfer of the Civil Service Law such as Information Technology Specialist 2 (Programming), G-18. Candidates reachable on the eligible list for this title will be considered through a canvass and do not need to apply.

Duties Description The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Information Technology Specialist 2 to work in the Web Development team of the Business Solutions Section. The technical staff person will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the OAG’s internet and intranet sites. This includes working with stakeholders to define requirements, managing day to day operations, adding/updating site content, conducting various system tests, designing new pages, troubleshooting problems, recommending system improvements, and preparing technical documentation. Some nights and weekends required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience in web design and development
•Experience working with HTML
•Experience working with CSS
•Experience working with Javascript
•Experience working with a content management system such as Drupal or WordPress
•Experience developing technical documentation
•Other duties as assigned.

Additional Comments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Experience with responsive web design
•Experience with PHP
•Experience with ECMAScript
•Experience with Linux
•Experience developing to Section 508 and WCAG standards
•Experience with Graphic Design and applications such as Adobe Photoshop
•Exemplary customer service skills
•Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Occasional overtime; weekends and evenings may be necessary.
