Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be reachable on the Health Services Nurse eligible list OR eligible to transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
70.1 Transfer:
Candidates must have one year of permanent, competitive service in the Health Services Nurse position or the Nurse 2 title.
Duties Description Provide skilled nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illness
• Provide treatment, including emergency care
• Advise employees to obtain outside care and treatment and refer them to care providers and support organizations
• Record signs and symptoms and complete forms and records for all patients
• Administer Employee Health Service Station by organizing and maintaining the Station, maintaining records, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment and provide privacy room for employees
• Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with agency managers, community health organizations, physicians, and other health care providers
• Refer employees to Reasonable Accommodation services as needed
• Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and first aid
• Perform vision screening for local employees for DMV license renewal
• Compile and submit monthly reports for supervisor and Civil Service Employee Health Services (EHS) office.
• Consult with OGS to assess requests and determine eligibility for medical parking
• Consultant for Reasonable Accommodation services as needed
Major Activity: Training and Agency Wellness
• Promote the health, wellness, and fitness of employees
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and evaluate health education programs
• Administrator and consultant for lunchtime wellness programs, including recruitment and scheduling for 110 State Street
• Presents at bi-weekly new employee orientation
• Coordinator and contact for OSC Blood Drives with the American Red Cross
• Participate in OSC Health Fair, Employee Development Week
Major Activity: Administrative
• Attend Health & Safety and EAP committee meetings
• Attend division meetings as needed

• Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy both orally and in written format
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to set priorities when working on multiple tasks
• Knowledge in business protocol and experience working in a confidential, professional environment
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite and the Internet preferred
