Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Reassignment: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as a Supervisor of Education Programs.

Section 70.1 Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in any of the following titles: Associate in Bilingual Education, Associate in Continuing Education, Associate in Education Improvement Services, Associate in Educational Planning and Evaluation, Associate in Instructional Services, or Associate in Occupational School Supervision.

Duties Description The New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for two Supervisor of Education Programs positions in the Office of Accountability’s Office of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)-Funded Programs. This Office is responsible for the implementation of programs funded under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). Under the general supervision of the Chief, Bureau of School Improvement Planning, the incumbents of these positions will be responsible for oversight and administration of federal ESEA funds for New York State. Duties of these positions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provide technical assistance to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) on the implementation of ESEA program policies, school level accountability, and school improvement;
• Coordinate the annual development, as well as participate in the review and approval, of Consolidated Applications for ESSA-Funded Programs and arrange for technical assistance and distribution to the field;
• Work in collaboration with staff of the Grants Management Unit to ensure an efficient system for processing Consolidated Application Updates;
• Collaborate and coordinate with the Office of Accountability staff and other NYSED program offices to develop seamless strategies for implementing selected initiatives;
• Participate in the review of team protocols and procedures and make recommendations for improvement;
• Participate in on-site monitoring of ESEA programs;
• Supervise staff responsible for the review and tracking of Consolidated Application Updates, School Improvement Grants, the implementation of ESSA-Funded programs, and the completion of ESSA-Funded Programs monitoring reports, and
• Undertake special assignments, as assigned.

Additional Comments CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: These will be contingent permanent appointments. Promotions and transfers may change appointees’ negotiating unit. Candidates should be aware that changes in negotiating units may affect their salary, insurance, and other benefits. These positions will require frequent, statewide travel.

* Leads to a maximum salary of $116,844 based on annual performance advances.
