Salary RangeFrom $99415 to $125629 Annually
Minimum Qualifications Admission to the New York State Bar and a member in good standing with at
least six years post law school legal experience as a practicing attorney in litigation and/or in administrative proceedings. Applicants must have prior supervisory experience and be capable of managing a legal office of attorneys and support staff.
Duties Description The ideal candidate will have previous experience in discrimination laws and general employment matters, health care law, Medicaid, health care financing, and/or managed care, experience in contract drafting, HIPAA and other state and federal health care confidentiality laws. Significant trial work or administrative hearing work as well as superior legal research and writing abilities and attention to detail is preferred. The position also requires that the applicant possess a willingness and ability to learn new technologies that support and further the mission of the office.
Primary duties include managing Office of Counsel staff located in NYC as a member of the Office of Counsel management team; overseeing and actively participating in complex court litigation and administrative hearing matters involving Medicaid and labor/employment issues, from commencement to post-trial or hearing; and advising and/or providing input and legal guidance to agency officials and staff.
