Minimum Qualifications Current New York State employee with one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service as an Administrative Aide (G-13); or one year of permanent or contingent-permanent service in a title allocated to G-11 or above eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Duties Description This position is assigned to the Division of Laboratory Quality Certification, Clinical Laboratory Evaluation Program (CLEP). CLEP provides oversight to clinical laboratories testing specimens from NYS. CLEP registers limited service laboratories (LSL) that perform waived tests and/or provider-performed microscopy procedures. The incumbent will ensure LSL applications are processed in a timely fashion and that all information is properly documented and retained; review new and renewal applications for completeness and for certain technical aspects, correspond with applicants, answer questions from regulated parties, and ensure databases are up to date. This position requires the incumbent to provide written and verbal responses to inquiries, referencing applicable policies and procedures and independently providing guidance to regulated parties on Program policies and procedures, and referring complex technical questions to appropriate technical staff.
