Minimum Qualifications 1. Satisfactory Completion of 60 semester credit hours of college coursework which includes at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science or science technology; OR 2. Two (2) years of satisfactory experience in either a laboratory or a clinical setting performing technical laboratory test and procedures; OR 3. Satisfactory equivalent combination of options 1 and 2, equaling 2 years. College study will be credited in six-month segments, with 15 semester credit hours equaling six months. Credits must include at least 18 semester credit hours in biology, chemistry, physics, health science, or science technology.
Duties Description Conduct laboratory analysis of fish and wildlife samples for chemical contaminants, especially PCBs, organochlorine pesticides and mercury. Dissect, homogenize and freeze-dry samples. As needed, perform lipid extraction, florisil chromatography cleanup, and gas chromatographic or spectrophotometric analysis of samples.
Additional Comments Must be able to lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with an anticipated end date of 11/30/21. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to dates listed above. Actual work schedule and duties may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
