Minimum Qualifications Must be currently serving in the title of Direct Support Assistant with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities.
OPERATIONAL NEEDS: Current AMAP, SCIP, First Aid, and CPR Certifications are preferred. A valid Driver’s License is required. Successful candidates must be able to work with non-ambulatory individuals. Heavy lifting is often considered in the selection process. Experience working with aggressive individuals with behavior problems is also preferred.
Duties Description The duties include but are not limited to:
• Successful candidate must have experience working with a diverse group of individuals
• The incumbent will be assigned on a daily basis to work with various classroom instructors
• Incumbent will assist, train, and supervise developmentally disabled individuals in developing skills as outline in prescribed treatment plans.
• Data collections and other record-keeping is required.
• The incumbent will have contact with family members, neighbors, community vendors, and service providers.

• If you are employed by state government you may be able to receive loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). The PSLF Program forgives the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments have been made under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
