Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) years of responsible management, administrative or supervisory experience in the health services field including one (1) year as manager of one or more of the following areas functioning in support of clinical or treatment services: budget, fiscal, human resource management, affirmative action, information systems management, or support services in a general hospital, community mental health center, health care facility or a facility or agency providing services to people diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities or mental retardation.

AND

EDUCATION:

A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards in hospital, health care, public or business administration or a related field.

OR

EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) years of the experience described above including two (2) years as a manager as described above.

AND

EDUCATION:

A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational standards.

Duties Description The Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 – Administration (DDPC 1 – Administration) is an essential member of the facility’s Executive Team. Under the general direction of the Executive Director, Psychiatric Center, the DDPC 1 – Administration serves as the hospital administrator responsible for the day-to-day development and direction of administrative, non-clinical support services (Human Resources, Business/Finance Office, Environmental Services, Building/Facilities Management, Safety and Security Department, and Nutrition Services) of the facility. The DDPC 1 - Administration will assist the Executive Director and provide administrative leadership; implement facility policies; interpret policy guidelines and monitor the effectiveness of these policies and ensure Joint Commission standards for Administrative Services are met.

Additional Comments Greater Binghamton Health Center (GBHC), a Joint Commission accredited facility, is seeking candidates to fill the position of Deputy Director, Psychiatric Center 1 – Administration. Located in Binghamton, New York, GBHC is a comprehensive, community-based mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults and children and youth in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga, and Tompkins counties. The goal of these programs is to support and enable persons with psychiatric disabilities to lead successful lives in the community.
