Minimum Qualifications One year of State experience as a Dentist 1 or take the open competitive exam for Dentist 2. On or before the date of exam, you must have a valid license and registration to practice dentistry in New York State and have three years full-time post-licensure dentistry experience, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity in a dental health care setting.
Duties Description Practice the profession of dentistry consistent with the scope of practice as conveyed in the state statue and may perform the same dugites as a Dentist 1, plan, organize, and direct the work of a professional and paraprofessional dental staff as prescribed by agency policy and procedures, schedule work and individual treatment, consult with subordinate dentist on problem cases. Provide staff training, prepare budget for the dental program, order and maintain dental equipment and supplies, prepare written reports, ensure that fully documented records are maintained.
