Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
Duties Description Successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with fall delivery of pheasants across the state, requiring safe operation of pick-up truck with trailer. Additionally they will be responsible for assisting with flight pen tear-down and annual winter preparation of grounds and equipment. Will also assist with grounds maintenance and repair, requiring use of hand and power tools as well as tractors and lawnmowers. Basic knowledge and understanding of hand & power tools, including lawn care and grounds maintenance equipment and an ability to perform simple construction and mechanical repairs is required for this position. Past experience with gamebird propagation is preferable.
Additional Comments Must have valid driver’s license or demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the position. Must be able to negotiate difficult terrain and/or work in remote areas. Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions. Travel and overtime may be required. Weekends and holidays may be required. Must be available for emergency response. Must be available to respond to after-hours emergencies. Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
This is a seasonal, hourly appointment with a duration through 11/30/21. Program needs and funding will determine actual termination date, which may be prior to date listed. Actual work schedule, duties, and travel requirements may vary and will be discussed at the interview.
